A new icon is born

1 Series M Coupé – more details revealed

Purists may not have approved when BMW turned to six-cylinder power for the second-generation (E36) M3, but the fact that in-line six came to be the engine that defined the smaller M cars as giant-killers can’t be denied. A full future for 1 Series

The 1-Series has proved a particularly successful model for BMW, but with the worldwide buying trend leaning toward smaller, lower emissions, and fuel-efficiency, the Munich-based manufacturer is reportedly planning to further extend the range with additional body styles and new engines enhanced with fuel-saving technology, when the second generation is due in 2011.
