As one of the first multi-cylinder, middleweight bikes from China, the Benelli BJ600GS is not a bad effort and shows a lot of potential. It still needs some development as, for instance, the strange steering feel compromises handling.
At R69 990 it is good value for money considering the type of machine and exciting styling. Branding it as a Benelli however, may look like a clever marketing ploy to increase sales, but there is some danger of potentially cheapening a well-respected marque.
Maybe the larger capacity (more expensive) models need to be considered if you long for the true Benelli spirit. Watch the video for a quick ride impression:
