The debate around the death of the electric car was kicked off by Chris Paine’s film Who killed the electric car (2006). Paine’s latest project, Revenge of the electric car, shows the recent resurgence of electric vehicles (EVs) as seen through the eyes of the pioneers of the EV industry as he takes his crew behind the closed doors of Nissan, GM and Tesla.
In the June 2011 issue of CAR magazine, we research the electric-vehicle market in California and propose that the EV industry has never been dead. Be sure to watch this trailer of Revenge of the electric car and visit www.revengeoftheelectriccar.com to request the producers to release the film in South Africa.
