Spies from monsterchannel 24 managed to catch BMW’s i8 hybrid sportscar hoofing it on Germany’s famed Nürburgring. The i8 will utilise a 96 kW/250 N.m electric motor up front, while that hearty thrum you’re listening it comes from a 164 kW/300 N.m three-cylinder turbopetrol engine powering the rear wheels and acting as a range extender.
The total output is rated at 260 kW and BMW claims a 0-100 km/h time of just under five seconds and a top speed of 250 km/h for this all-wheel drive model.
Only 20 examples of the i8 are expected to reach our shores.
