A short feel-good video shared by South Africa Daily on Facebook shows the moment two Checkers sixty60 bikers come to the aid of a forlon compatriot who reportedly ran out of fuel. What seems to be somewhere around Cape Town, the riders on the two flanking bikes use their legs and balance to keep the defunct bike moving forward, and hopefully to a fuel station before continuing with any other deliveries.

It is worth noting that these actions, despite the comic relief they provide contravene the rule of driving motorcycles in the country. The correct procedure when running out of fuel or similarly during a breakdown would be to pull over to the side of the road in a safe location, turn on your hazard lights, and contact your roadside assistance service or a friend to bring fuel. Failing that, it is recommended to contact the applicable insurance company for assistance. The AA recommends being cognisant of your surroundings when stationary, particularly in unsafe environments and in this scenario, on the side of a motorway where the national speed limit can be as high as 120 km/h.
