This dashcam footage from Australia shows a Honda Civic Type R driver attempt to undertake a truck as two lanes merge into one, with nasty consequences.
The clip – captured by a camera installed in the red Type R – shows the hot hatch making a right turn, behind a truck. Seemingly unprepared to sit behind the slower-moving vehicle, the Honda driver dives left, with a plan to undertake the truck before the lanes merge.
However, the truck driver also swerves left, resulting in a collision between the two vehicles and contact between the Civic and the barrier.
According to the uploader of the footage, he had owned the Civic Type R for just two weeks before the crash (he furthermore said the truck driver was both uninsured and unlicensed).
