The folks over at Throttle House have put three of the most powerful petrol SUVs to the test, drag racing the Lamborghini Urus against two sporty American SUVs – the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk and Hellcat-powered Dodge Durango (the latter of which is, of course, not available in South African).
The only non-American-built SUV of the trio, the Italian-bred SUV has the smallest displacement engine, with a twin-turbocharged 4,0-litre V8 producing 478 kW and 850 N.m of torque for a claimed zero to 100 km/h sprint time of 3,6 seconds. Endowed with supercharged 6,2-litre V8s, the Jeep and Dodge produce 522 kW/875 N.m and 530 kW/875 N.m respectively.
Both the Jeep and Dodge have a claimed zero to 100 km/h time of 3,7 seconds.Which of these three sporty SUVs will win? Watch the video below as the Lamborghini, Grand Cherokee Trackhawk and Dodge compete in a drag race and rolling race.
