Will the new Toyota GR Yaris be able to take down the Honda Civic Type R in a (rather damp) drag race? The folks over at CarWow want to find out.

As a reminder, the new GR Yaris employs a turbocharged 1,6-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine driving all four wheels via a six-speed manual gearbox. While the version offered in Japan boasts 200 kW, the Euro-spec model featured here makes do with 192 kW.

And the Civic Type R? Well, the larger hot hatch generates 228 kW from its turbocharged 2,0-litre, four-cylinder petrol heart, though it drives the front wheels only (also through a six-speed manual ‘box).
