Another day, another interesting drag race. This one features two unlikely rivals in the form of the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk and the Porsche 911 GT3 RS.

The folks over at Texas-based tuner Hennessey Performance put together this straight-line battle, though we should emphasise the vehicles featured in the race are both stock.

As a reminder, the Trackhawk sports a supercharged 6,2-litre V8 petrol engine delivering 522 kW and 875 N.m to all four corners. Jeep says it’ll hit three figures in 3,5 seconds and top out at 290 km/h.

The 991.2-generation 911 GT3 RS, meanwhile, employs a naturally aspirated 4,0-litre flat-six engine sending 383 kW and 470 N.m to the rear axle. The result, claims Porsche, is a blast from standstill to 100 km/h in around 3,2 seconds and a top speed of 312 km/h.
