The folks over at Lovecars in the United Kingdom have lined up the Porsche Taycan Turbo S and the Lamborghini Aventador SV for an interesting drag race. Of course, these two vehicles represent entirely different approaches to accelerating really quickly.

As a reminder, the Aventador SV employs a naturally aspirated 6,5-litre V12 delivering 552 kW and 690 N.m to all four corners. The Italian firm says it’ll hit 100 km/h from standstill in 2,8 seconds.

And the Taycan Turbo S? Well, it features a permanently excited synchronous electric motor on each axle. With 560 kW and 1 050 N.m on tap, the Zuffenhausen-based company the apex Taycan will hit three figures in 2,8 seconds.

Thing is, the all-electric Porsche is fairly portly, thanks to that 93,4 kWh lithium-ion battery pack.
