Yes, the folks over at CarWow in the United Kingdom has got their hands on the new Mercedes-AMG A45 S … and lined it up for a drag race, of course.
The fresh-faced hyper-hatch’s rivals in this battle? None other than the Audi RS3 Sportback, the BMW M2 and the Volkswagen Golf R.
As a reminder, the A45 S employs the most powerful four-cylinder engine in production, with the turbocharged 2,0-litre unit offering all four wheels a whopping 310 kW.
The RS3’s five-pot generates 294 kW while the R-badged Golf’s four-pot makes 221 kW in UK spec (as opposed to 228 kW here in South Africa). While all three of the above are all-paw machines, the BMW M2 is rear-driven, with its 3,0-litre inline-six worth 302 kW.
