Electric Cars Can be Fast!

Don’t worry “petrolheads”, the electrification of the car doesn’t mean all cars will be slow and look like Nissan Leafs.Witness this radical electric race car by Toyota, dubbed the TMG EV P001 scorch its way around the Nurburgring in a rather impressive time of 7 minutes 47,794 seconds with driver Jochen Krumbach behind the wheel. That time equals roughly what a BMW M3 GTS can do!

The car is the product of Toyota Motorsport GmbH (TMG) and uses a powertrain that consists of two electric motors that push out 800 Nm of torque and power the car to a top speed of 260 km/h.
