Porsche was the featured manufacturer at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed as the company celebrated the 50th anniversary of its perennial 911 sportscar.
That, however, didn’t stop the German firm from rolling out all sorts of machinery from old racecars of all descriptions to the as-yet-unreleased 918 hypercar.
This near-production model was given a good workout at the event’s hillclimb section. Powered by a 4,6-litre V8 that is mated with a hybrid component, the limited-run model (just 918 will be made) is said to produce nearly 890 bhp (665 kW). Turn up your speakers; you’ll want to savour the engine note.
