As most men with young sons will tell you, one of the great benefits of being a dad is that you can start buying Lego again without feeling any shame… Well, as if you needed any further convincing that Lego is the greatest toy ever invented, witness this 1:8,5 scale Land Rover Defender 110 built entirely by 2 800 pieces of Lego.
It is a fully functional radio-controlled machine that has a five-speed gearbox (with reverse), a two-speed transfer case (two- and four-wheel drive) and even disc brakes on all four wheels. The detailing is quite amazing – the lock-to-lock of the steering system is the same as a real Defender’s! Even the top speed is about the same as a real Defender’s – a glacial 4 km/h.
The Defender was built by an enthusiast named Sheepo. For more information follow the directions on autoblog.
