The 430 kW Mercedes-AMG GT R is on its way to South Africa, and from what we know about the GT S, we’re are expecting great things from it. This impressive Nurburgring Nordschleife lap time of 7 min 10,92 sec further fuels our excitement for this particular car.
For the sake of context, this lap time is 3,5 seconds faster than the Lexus LFA, 7,08 seconds faster than a 911 GT2 RS and 24 seconds faster than a Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4. On the flip-side, however it is still 2.24 seconds slower than the new Nismo GT-R.
Despite this impressive time, the Mercedes-AMG GT3 still managed to overtake the GT R at the 3:22 mark, despite possessing the old 6,2-litre V8 which means that this car may just be a formidable machine on the track as well in the 2017 racing calendar.
