
American cars have been stereotyped for years as being incapable of dealing with corners. This video may support that notion, but you have to consider that the Chevrolet Camaro in question has been juiced to 1 350 kW thanks to a bespoke twin-turbo system.
The video shows the driver and his companion piloting the Camaro against a superbike at the Shift S3ctor half-a-mile drag race event in the United States. Control seems to be lost right after they cross the finish line at approximately 320 km/h.
It’s hard to say exactly what caused the crash considering that neither the clip above nor the one below gives a clear enough view, but it is confirmed that both the driver and passenger (who was knocked unconscious) sustained minor injuries, with their lives most probably saved by what turned out to be a rather effective roll-cage.
