Footage from a recent Lotus Cup Europe race at Paul Ricard in France shows a 2-Eleven race car burst into flames … and roll back onto the track sans its driver.
The incident took place in race two, when Anthony Fournier’s car caught alight. The race one winner managed to stop the vehicle at the side of the track and hop out, allowing officials to attempt to extinguish the blaze.
But before they had done so, the flame-engulfed vehicle rolled back down a slight slope onto the track, right into the path of other competitors.
Thankfully, nobody was injured.
