We recently captured this footage of an unfortunate fellow falling out the back of a bakkie in Cape Town.
Web editor Ryan Bubear was out on the road – with his dashcam running as usual – when he noticed the poor chap tumble out the back of the bakkie, landing on the tarmac with a thud.
The incident took place at the intersection of Concert Boulevard and Prince George Drive near Lavender Hill, when the bakkie turned right into Hek Road.
Thankfully, the vehicle was moving quite slowly – and oncoming drivers noticed the man in the road – so he escaped serious injury. The bakkie driver quickly pulled over to wait for his lost human cargo to catch up.
Of course, the footage does highlight the danger that many South Africans face daily while travelling on the back of bakkies.
