Cameramen at racetracks sometimes get to experience some great and exciting moments but it is, without a doubt, a very dangerous job; as we have seen time and time again, especially in the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC).
The BTCC is regarded by some as a contact sport, and here we have an example of why that is… (Jump to 1:24 to see the incident)
From what we can tell, the incident starts when the Ford Focus ST cuts in front of the Seat Leon Cupra, causing somewhat of a pile-up. The Cruz then reacts too late to avoid the collision and clips the left side of the Seat, placing it on two wheels and setting it on course for the unsuspecting cameraman.
It has been confirmed that the cameraman sustained minor injuries but it’s pretty certain that a new pair of pants are in order.
