In 1987, CAR magazine South Africa tested a white Toyota Conquest that it described as, “a Toyota with real fire, a real sense of purpose, its personality for once not smothered by compromise and a desire to please all of the people all of the time.” That car was the original Conquest RSi, a locally-developed package that featured the brand’s prized 4A-GE twin-cam motor.
