We’ve come across a video showcasing a GT3 test mule pacing around the Motegi venue accompanied by an eight-cylinder soundtrack. Speculation points to this being Toyota’s GR GT3 concept, while the video editor claims Lexus LF-R mule.
Near the tail-end of January 2022, Toyota unveiled its GR GT3 concept at the 2022 Tokyo Auto Salon as a testament to Toyota’s commitment to developing “attractive driver-focused cars for customer motorsport.” Toyota WEC team director Rob Leupen has confirmed that this GT3 concept will eventually morph into a road-going version, all we know for certain at this point is that the GT3 configuration will compete in the 2026 World Endurance Championship.
What leads us to believe that this is an example of Toyota’s GR GT3 concept is the unmistakable frame, which is characterised by the long, flat bonnet flowing to a receded cabin all curtailed by a large rear wing. This futuristic batmobile’s physique may be eye-catching, but it’s the thrum of what sounds like a V8 engine that would turn heads.
No word yet on the inner workings of the car spotted in the video, but we will continue to monitor the story and provide updates as information is made available.
For now, we’d like to hear what you think about the GT3 car’s soundtrack.
