A double-cab bakkie on the Nürburgring? No, your eyes don't deceive you. This footage shows a Volkswagen Amarok V6 tackling the Green Hell. Somewhat predictably, though, things end badly for the driver.
The video initially shows the type of vehicles we expect to see at the infamous German track (a 911 GT3, a 3 Series and a Mégane RS), before the V6-powered bakkie comes blasting into the frame.
Its driver, however, carries far too much speed into the corner, and then seemingly yanks on the handbrake midway through, causing the rear wheels to lock up. The bakkie understeers into the barrier, resulting in some damage to the front of the vehicle and the detachment of the spare wheel.
