You get burnouts … then you get flaming burnouts

If you’ve ever spent any time down at your local dragstrip, you’ll no doubt be familiar with pre-race burnouts. But we’ll bet you haven’t seen one quite like this.

Dave Nelson created this flame-filled video, which has subsequently been selected for the GoPro Awards, and it illustrates an extreme method of warming up the tyres.

First, the slick tyres are doused in petrol. Then they are set alight. All that’s left is for Nelson to perform the ultimate burnout. He obliges.

We should point out that there were tons of firefighters on hand for the stunt, in case something went wrong. And, obviously, we’d encourage you NOT to try this at home…
