BMW recently took the wraps off the BMW 2002 Hommage Concept at the 2016 Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este.
But, of course, this isn’t the first time the Munich-based brand has dipped its toe in the Hommage-themed pond. In fact, a whole collection of Hommage concepts were on display at the recent event on the shores of Lake Como in Italy.
And here they are…
BMW Concept Coupé Milla Miglia (2006): Back in 2006, the German automaker created the BMW Concept Coupé Mille Miglia. It may not have used the Hommage moniker, but the concept was nevertheless a stunning throwback to the BMW 328 Mille Miglia Touring Coupé of 1940.
BMW M1 Hommage (2008): BMW presented the first in the line of Hommage-branded vehicles back in 2008 to mark the 30th birthday of the BMW M1. And it turned out to be a preview of the i8, of sorts…
BMW 328 Hommage (2011): The BMW 328 Hommage was unveiled in 2011 to celebrate the 75th birthday of the BMW 328 racing car.
BMW Concept Ninety (2013): In 2013, BMW celebrated the 90th birthday of BMW Motorrad, and with it 90 years in the motorcycle-making business. And the Concept Ninety was the result.
BMW 3.0 CSL Hommage (2015): Drawing inspiration from the BMW 3.0 CSL of the 1970s, this 2015 concept features lightweight construction thanks to the use of modern materials.
