- Chery Tiggo 8 Pro MAX AWD – R731 900
The Tiggo 8 Pro MAX AWD is sold with a 7-year/90 000km service plan, a 5-year/150 000km warranty, a 10-year/1 000 000km engine warranty, and a 5-year unlimited distance roadside assistance plan.
“Our engineers have spent a considerable amount of development and testing hours with the all-wheel drive system to ensure that it is robust enough to work in the blink of an eye, but that it also offers a long operational life,” – Tony Liu, Executive Deputy General Manager of Chery South Africa.
The new range-topping model relies on the same platform and offers the same specifications as its two-wheel-drive counterparts. During normal driving conditions, the AWD system has a front-wheel-drive bias, which is claimed to aid the car’s average fuel consumption and drivability. The same 2.0-litre TDGI turbo-petrol engine is employed in the non-AWD Pro Max model. Power output has been undisturbed and feds 187 kW/ 390 N.m to all four corners of the new Tiggo 8 Pro MAX AWD and is mated to a seven-speed DCT. The AWD features a larger 57-litre fuel tank to allow for greater range, while the 2WD model relies on a 51-litre fuel tank.

The Tiggo 8 Pro MAX AWD features upgraded suspension and is tuned to accommodate power being delivered to all four wheels. Beyond mechanical enhancements, the AWD Pro Max derivative features additional driver assistance systems atop the standard laundry list of Autonomous Driver Assistant Systems (ADAS) offered in the rest of the range. These include autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assistance, rear cross-traffic alert, traffic congestion assistance, and a driving view recorder as standard for the AWD model.
“Chery is almost 70% ahead of its total sales for the first two months of last year and there is no indication of slowing down. The brand will continue to introduce new models and upgrades to existing models to support its sales drive, while also investing in its dealer network to expand its reach in South and Southern Africa,” – Jay Jay Botes, General Manager: Chery Brand at Chery South Africa.
