“Where does he get those wonderful toys?!” The immortal words of Jack Nicholson’s Joker character in the 1989 Tim Burton hit Batman. Of course, of the many spectacular “toys” Batman has used to protect Gotham over the years, his car must surely rate as one of the most effective. Much like Batman himself, the Batmobile has taken on many shapes over the years, from the Lincoln Futura concept used in the 1960s TV series to the latest heavy-duty Tumbler used by the capped crusader in the latest Christopher Nolan-directed trilogy. In this forthcoming documentary, we go behind the wheel of each Batmobile and hear from the men who penned the design, and the actors and stunt drivers who later drove the cars on set. Even in this short trailer for the film, we get to see some finer details, including the Batman logo inset into the tyre tread on one car that would have been impossible to see in the actual movie.
“It’s the car right? Chicks love the car…”
