The BMW M4 Convertible along with the X3 and X4 M have arrived in South Africa to appease the local speed enthusiasts. The three models come standard with a plethora of features but the optional catalogue is pretty extensive as well.
The open-top BMW M4 Convertible boasts a starting price of R2 119 596 which standard equipment includes M compound brakes, parking assist, a wind deflector, BMW Individual high-gloss Shadow Line trimmings, BMW Laserlight, comfort access, steering wheel heating, the digital key, smoker’s package, electronic seat adjustment with a memory function and seat heating, an air collar, automatic air conditioning with a microfilter, TMPS, the M Driver’s Package with an increased top speed, the M sport differential and adaptive M suspension, BMW Live cockpit professional, a Harman-Kardon surround sound system and an array of safety features.
For more of a visual presence, two exterior packages are available. At an additional cost of R100 800, you can fit the M Carbon exterior package. For further exclusivity, you can select the additional BMW Individual trimmings via a R143 000 package. This includes exterior paint, premium leather upholstery and interior finishes. A soft top Anthracite Silver effect is available for R11 000 if you want to create an even more stylised look. For a more conclusive visual look, you can also add the BMW Individual Shadow Line lights for R6 200.
Enhanced comfort and presence for the BMW M4 Convertible can be provided via front active seat ventilation for R6 100, M Carbon bucket seats for R82 500 (which cannot be had with the aforementioned ventilation or the air collar).
For enhanced stopping power, the M Carbon ceramic brakes can be fitted for R141 000. The BMW drive recorder is available for R3 300. Further safety equipment includes the driving assist professional for R23 800.
With all possible options selected, the total amount for the BMW M4 Convertible comes in at R2 620 196.
If you prefer the practicality of an SUV, the BMW X3 M and X4 M are available for R1 970 562 and R2 070 562 respectively. Interestingly, these two models boast a more comprehensive list of standard features compared to the BMW M4 Convertible.
Optional equipment for the exterior consists of acoustic glazing for R2 400 and M carbon mirror caps for R12 300. Comfort in the cabin is enhanced via steering wheel heating for R3 050, front seat heating and active ventilation for R23 000 and rear seat heating for R6 100. If you want to add the TV function and drive recorder, that will set you back R9 500 and R3 300 respectively.
All in, this brings the total amount of both products up by R59 650 respectively.
All three models mentioned above are available in Competition-guise only which means they are powered by the brand’s S58 twin-turbocharged 3,0-litre straight six mill which delivers 375 kW to the wheels via an eight-speed torque converter.
