The Hennessey Exorcist 30th anniversary edition has been revealed to celebrate the American tuning firm’s three decade long commitment to making cars faster since 1991. Based off the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, this package adds more power and a number of visual enhancements.
Using Chevrolet’s LT4 supercharged 6,2-litre V8 as a base, which boasts a standard power output of 485 kW and 880 N.m of torque, the Hennessey Exorcist 30th anniversary edition has been pushed to produce 746 kW and 1 197 N.m. This figure has been achieved by means of an upgraded high-flow Magnuson supercharger and intercooler system along with several powertrain upgrades such as a custom HPE camshaft, ported cylinder heads and auxiliary fuel system.
With these modifications applied, the Hennessey Exorcist 30th anniversary edition, as per the tuning firm’s claims, is set to achieve a quarter-mile sprinting time of just 9,5 seconds, a 0-60 mph (0-97 km/h) acceleration time of 2,1 seconds and a top speed of 350 km/h.
Visual enhancements to the Hennessey Exorcist 30th anniversary edition consist of Exorcist decals along the side of the body, 30th-anniversary edition logos on the fenders, premium floor mats with Exorcist branding and, to top it all off, a limited-edition chassis plate.
Limited to just 30 units, the track-tested Hennessey Exorcist 30th anniversary edition boasts an asking price of $135 000 (approximately R1,96 million). This includes the base price of a Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, which retails at $65 895 (approximately R960 000) plus a $55 000 (R801 651) installation cost. The Exorcist also benefits from Hennessey’s two-year/24,000 mile (38 625 km) limited warranty.
The Exorcist package was revealed for the Camaro ZL1 in 2017 as a competitor for the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon.
“The Exorcist is not just a quarter-mile racer. It’s a well-rounded super muscle car that is just as happy on a road course as it is on the dragstrip and street. Needless to say, this will leave the competition’s heads spinning,” quipped John Hennessey, company founder and president.
