INEOS Automotive has announced that it will be developing and launching a new electric 4X4 model in partnership with automotive industry supplier, Magna. The smaller sibling to the INEOS Grenadier will arrive in 2026.
“This is an exciting moment for INEOS Automotive. Our all-new electric 4X4 will be zero emission while offering customers exceptional off-road capability, without compromising on-road comfort or performance.” — Lynn Calder, CEO of INEOS Automotive

The Grenadier — which the electric model will likely seek to supersede— is a rugged and utilitarian explorer founded on a ladder-frame chassis that retains the vintage off-road driving experience subtly complemented by a myriad of modern amenities to smooth out the Herculean 4X4’s rough edges.
This new electric model serves as the curtain raiser for the INEOS brand’s zero-emission model lineup. This new electric 4X4 will be more compact than the Grenadier while emulating the Grenadier’s esteemed off-road performance capabilities in an electric platform. To ensure this new model retains its landscape-conquering character, the new electric 4X4 will undergo a “rigorous testing program” that will take place in Austria’s Schöckl mountain range. Magna and INEOS have previously worked together on numerous projects ranging from the Grenadier station wagon, and pick-up models.

While it’s fair to assume that any model debuting in 2026 will have an abundance of technological goodies, it’s safe to say that the essence of the 2022 INEOS Grenadier will remain.
The electric 4X4 will begin production in 2026 at Magna’s Graz assembly facility in Austria. ”Having worked together on the engineering of the Grenadier, we’ve seen first-hand the value of applying Magna’s agility, knowledge, and experience to a complete vehicle development programme. Deepening our collaboration is a natural next step as we use the Grenadier as a springboard for our continued growth as a global automotive brand with this third model line.” — Lynn Calder
