Hyundai has released four fresh teaser images of its upcoming Kona N, giving us our best look yet at the new hot crossover.

After displaying a camouflaged version of the new Kona N in mid-January 2021, the Korean firm has now released more revealing images that show the high-performance crossover from various angles.

The front end of the N division’s first attempt at a hot crossover is dominated by large air intakes along with a new lighting signature plus upper (with the “N” logo) and lower grilles.

Round back, you’ll find a double-wing roof spoiler that Hyundai says both “enhances” downforce and lends visual “spice” to the rear view. The wing furthermore incorporates a triangular brake light. Further down, you’ll notice the large-diameter tailpipes and diffuser element.

Hyundai promises the new Kona N will furthermore be equipped with various “eye-catching features” reserved for N models, such as exclusive alloy wheels and red accents on the side sills.

While Hyundai has confirmed the new Kona N will be powered by a turbocharged 2,0-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine, its peak outputs have yet to be released. Still, we expect these figures to be similar to (or even match those of) the recently refreshed 206 kW/392 N.m i30 N.

Like that hot hatch, the Kona N will be available with an eight-speed (wet) dual-clutch transmission, along with launch control. Hyundai furthermore promises an “emotional” soundtrack from the sports exhaust system.
