Electrification beckons at the top tier of automakers, just as it does with manufacturers centred around basic mobility but the 2025 Ferrari EV won’t lose its dynamics with the additional weight of batteries and electric motors.
Or at least that is what Benedetto Vigna assured enthusiasts and adoring Tifosi of the Prancing Horse alike. The Chief Executive Officer of Ferrari stated that the 2025 Ferrari EV, which will be the first produced by the Maranello outfit, will not compromise driving dynamics.
“In terms of drive, in terms of vehicle dynamics, we can manage this additional weight. It’s true, we have a few 100 kilos more than a regular ICE car for the same kind of horsepower, but what really reassures me is the fact that we have a deep understanding of the vehicle dynamics. So, it’s a challenge, but we see it as an opportunity to continue to make something unique.”
Ferrari have slowly been merging into the world of electrification with their first hybrid model being the LaFerrari that was introduced in 2013. Motorsport endeavours in Formula 1 have paid dividends with the hybrid era since the current lineup includes two more PHEV models; the 296 GTB and the SF90 Stradale. While the latter is the fastest accelerating Ferrari of all time, perhaps the 2025 Ferrari EV can change that with the instant torque and impressive acceleration that electric powertrains behold.
Ferrari will also be one of the several new teams to enter competitive endurance racing from next year, which should also help with the development of future hybrid and electric road going cars.

The Maranello automaker will assume full control of their electric vehicle development which means electric motors and batteries will be manufactured in-house. This will allow Ferrari to be self reliant as we transition into electrified mobility which will have hybrids and EVs each representing 40% of annual sales for the brand.
