The Jolion’s larger sibling is en route to South Africa, with a launch date for the Haval Jolion Max officially confirmed. Here’s what we know so far…

In April 2026, we reported that the Haval Jolion Max is en route to South Africa, with a local launch date set for sometime during the second half of the year. Well, we can now confirm when the Jolion’s larger sibling will officially arrive in our market. The Jolion Max will slot in between the Jolion Pro and H6 in GWM’s Haval product portfolio.
Haval Jolion Max dimensions
The Jolion Max measures 4 590 mm in length and 1 877 mm in width, making it 120 mm longer yet 21 mm narrower than the Jolion Pro. Compared to the H6, the Jolion Max is 113 mm shorter and 9 mm narrower. The Jolion Max stands 1 675 mm tall, with a 2 710 mm wheelbase (up 10 mm over the Jolion Pro).

Haval Jolion Max powertrains
While GWM has yet to confirm local engine options, we expect the Jolion Max will be offered with the same units employed by the local Jolion Pro lineup. That’s to say, the choice of two powertrains: 1.5-litre, four-cylinder turbocharged petrol in two states of tune and a 1.5-litre self-charging hybrid (HEV).
Exclusively coupled with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, the 1.5-litre internal combustion engine (ICE) produces 105 kW and 210 N.m as standard. However, in the S derivative, the ICE receives a bump in power and torque, to 130 kW and 270 N.m. Power is delivered to the road via the front wheels.
The HEV powertrain comprises a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder turbocharged petrol and a single electric motor, producing combined power and torque outputs of 140 kW and 375 N.m. The HEV setup is paired with a direct hybrid transmission (DHT) and front-wheel drive.
In overseas markets, the Jolion Max will also be offered with plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and battery-electric (BEV) powertrains. However, whether these units will be available in our country remains to be seen. The PHEV arrangement pairs a 1.5-litre four-pot with two electric motors for a combined system output of 240 kW. The BEV produces 150 kW.
