What does the Aero Performance Package include?
The Aero Performance Package features a ducted aluminium bonnet, which shares the shape of the carbon-fibre item found on the GRMN Yaris. According to the Japanese automaker, the new bonnet improves cooling by discharging heat from the engine compartment. Designed to suppress lift, the new front lip spoiler enhances ground contact and balance, Toyota says.
The wheel-arch ducts release rearward air from the front wheelhouses to improve steering feel and handling stability when cornering, while rear bumper ducts supress the “parachute” effect and decrease the drag coefficient. A variable rear wing is also present. The Aichi-based brand says the latter item contributes to handling stability and suppresses “snake-like” movement during braking. The Aero Performance Package also includes a fuel tank undercover, which optimises airflow under the body to improve airflow.

Power is delivered to the road via the marque’s GR-Four all-wheel-drive system. Both the manual and DAT models complete the 0-100 km/h sprint in a claimed 5.2 seconds on the way to a 230 km top speed. Toyota claims an average fuel consumption of 8.2 and 9.1 L/100 km for the manual and DAT models, respectively.
