Making its debut at the 2026 Paris Motor Show, Peugeot has whipped the wraps off the E-T16 Concept, a future-focused take on a 1980s rally icon.

Following the list of concept cars unveiled at the 2026 Paris Motor Show, Peugeot has revealed the E-T16 Concept. The all-electric design study celebrates the 40th anniversary of the French firm’s iconic 205 T16 rally car.
The 205 T16 was conceived for Group B rally racing and claimed victory at both the 1985 and 1986 World Rally Championships. In an effort to “reinvent” this model, Peugeot used it as inspiration for the E-T16 Concept. The latter also reinterprets the styling lines of the future E-208 into an altogether bolder package. Peugeot Design Director Matthias Hossan says the concept car’s radical design celebrates the brand’s heritage and transforms power and sportiness into a true design language.
Adopting the automaker’s new ‘Feline Future’ design language, the E-T16 Concept features a fresh interpretation of the marque’s three-claw lighting signature for both the head- and taillamps. The Peugeot emblem is illuminated. The concept’s bold bodywork is characterised by large front air intakes, pronounced wheel arches, “floating” C-pillars designed to direct airflow towards the rear of the vehicle, and a rear diffuser with adjustable blades to enhance aerodynamics. The wheels are wrapped in Michelin tyres and house 380 mm brake discs.
The E-T16 Concept is equipped with three electric motors – two at the rear, with a single unit mounted at the front. The system produces a combined power output of 600 kW. According to Peugeot, this figure allows for a 0-100 km/h sprint time of 2.5 seconds…and a 0-300 km/h sprint in 16 seconds. The concept’s 800 V architecture incorporates an 85 kWh battery.
Inside, the cabin features a 21-inch panoramic display layout, which comprises the digital instrumentation and touchscreen infotainment system. This arrangement sits above Peugeot’s Hypersquare steering wheel. A functional handbrake is located in the centre console. The E-T16 Concept has bucket seats upholstered in the carmaker’s PELINOVA upholstery, which is made of recycled leather offcuts. The cabin features a red and black theme, akin to the GTi models of old.
