The Prior Design Volkswagen Golf GTI 8 body kit has been revealed in a series of renders that transforms the German hot hatch into a TCR-inspired racer. The aftermarket application features changes to all angles of the design.
From the front, the Prior Design Volkswagen Golf GTI 8 retains its dominant design cues such as the bonnet, headlamps and checkered flag foglamps fitted to the air intakes. These lines have been exaggerated by a prominent front splitter applied to a widened bumper. The design of the splitter digs into the air intake cluster to create a more intimidating front apron.
The profile of the design mimics that of the front with a new side skirt housing a winglet that runs along the wheelbase and connects the two flared wheel arches positioned on either end. This is complemented by a set of custom double five-spoke alloy wheels finished in black and a Prior Design sticker than run along the lower end of the doors.
At the rear, the Prior Design Volkswagen Golf GTI 8 is fitted with a conclusive bumper hosting a pair of air outlets on either side that flow into a prominent diffuser. At either end, a single exhaust tailpipe found on the standard model remains. Upon the hatch, a notable spoiler with a double-bump design has been fitted to further illustrate a racecar for the road persona.
No confirmation on a final product or changes to the interior or powertrain has been detailed for the Prior Design Volkswagen Golf GTI 8. If it ever becomes available, it would be a pretty suitable road-going option next to the SA-built track-only Volkswagen Golf 8 GTI GTC which was revealed last year with a 370 kW and 600 N.m of torque EA888 turbocharged 2,0-litre four-cylinder engine and rear-wheel drivetrain.
