The 2024 Nampo Festival, set amidst the maize fields of Bothaville in the Free State, saw Toyota South Africa Motors (TSAM) embracing this year’s theme, “Agriculture in a Digital Age,” with a distinctive flair.

The prestigious annual event is a cornerstone for South Africa’s agricultural community, drawing thousands of attendees who are eager to explore the latest advancements and trends in agriculture. The Toyota stand, adorned with natural timber finishes and hay bales, blended with the agricultural backdrop, highlighting Toyota’s commitment to immersing itself in the rural landscape, and underscoring the automaker’s alignment with the agricultural community.

This year’s festival was particularly notable for Toyota. Central to their display was the newly launched Associated Accessory Products (AAP) programme. This initiative allowed visitors to see vehicles equipped with an array of accessories. For the first time, the public could interact with the new Land Cruiser Prado, specifically the 1st edition and VX-R models, alongside the robust Land Cruiser 70 series. The Hilux GR-S III, which launched just days before, also made a strong impression with its rugged capabilities.

Toyota didn’t stop at static displays, however. The Toyota Urban Trax, a highlight for over 300 thrill-seekers daily, offered an exhilarating 4×4 experience in the indomitable Hilux, demonstrating its off-road prowess. Additionally, attendees could explore a variety of other popular models, including the Fortuner, Land Cruiser 300 and sporty options like the GR Supra, GR Corolla and GR86.
Reflecting Toyota’s global sustainability goals, the stand featured energy-efficient models such as the RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) and the Crown. Lexus, Toyota’s luxury arm, showcased the RX 450h Plug-in Hybrid and the NX 350h, alongside a futuristic glimpse with the RZ.
