Refreshed Mercedes-AMG GLC63 S: pricing for South Africa revealed…

By: CAR magazine

The facelifted Mercedes-AMG GLC63 S is on its way to South Africa and we’ve come across pricing for both the standard body style and the so-called coupé variant.

So, how much are you looking at for these high-performance SUVs? Well, the GLC63 S will be priced from R1 689 040, while the GLC63 S Coupé will start at R1 888 280 (the latter representing a premium of R199 240 over the former).

Under the bonnet, nothing’s changed, which means the twin-turbo 4,0-litre V8 still generates 375 kW, along with a peak torque figure of 700 N.m. Drive is again sent to all four corners via a nine-speed automatic transmission. The sprint from zero to 100 km/h takes a clamed 3,8 seconds while top speed comes in at 280 km/h thanks to the standard fitment of the AMG Driver’s Package.

Optional packages in South Africa will include the AMG aerodynamics package (R23 870), the AMG night package (R16 200) and the AMG performance high-end seat package (R118 072). Although 20-inch five-twin-spoke alloy wheels will ship standard, 21-inch items in various styles will also be offered.

Standalone options will include carbon-fibre side-mirror caps (R20 500), a fully digital instrument display (R12 800), the AMG performance exhaust system (R23 900) and a head-up display (R16 900).

The MBUX multimedia system (with extended functions), though, will come standard, as will items such as the 10,25-inch display, Apple CarPlay, adaptive Multibeam LED headlamps and AMG Ride Control+.
