A new rumour out of Spain suggests that the Mercedes-AMG GT Coupe and Roadster will be discontinued by the end of this year and that the brand has already closed its order books. This decision comes as global deliveries for the Black Series commences.
According to information sourced by Motor.es, the last remaining model in the AMG line-up will be the GT Four-door Coupe until it is joined by the next-generation SL. The Mercedes-AMG GT first broke cover at the 2014 Paris Motor Show and hit dealerships by March 2015.
Mercedes-AMG then revealed a Roadster variant and offered both alongside one another. In 2017, the range was given a subtle cosmetic facelift. The aforementioned Black Series was revealed last year as a halo model for the successful sports coupe.
The Spanish publication states with orders for the Mercedes-AMG GT Coupe and Roadster now being closed, only the units ordered until the beginning of this month of October will be manufactured. In which case, if you are interested in still buying one, you may have to look at the used market. Currently listed on our local configurator are just two models; the GT C Roadster and track-focused GT R Coupe.
