Mercedes-Benz will launch its range-topping SL65 AMG alongside its V8 engined siblings, the SL500 and SL63 AMG, towards the end of July 2012. Powered by a twin turbo V12 with 463 kW and 1 000 N.m on tap, the SL65 AMG looks set to stun.
Mercedes-Benz has digitally revealed its apex SL-Class model, the SL65 AMG, ahead of its official debut at next month’s New York International Auto Show. The new car is lighter, more powerful and more frugal than before and also ushers in the company’s 7-speed automatic transmission.
Mercedes-Benz’ SL65 AMG roadster will not exist in the future SL line-up. This is a result of a decision made by the German manufacturer to discontinue its V12 engine – in the SL range, at least. The new SL will debut within the next year.
