The Geely Boyue X has been revealed as a premium extension of the Chinese manufacturer’s current crossover offering which is known as the Atlas in select markets. Like Haval and Chery, this new model aims to take the fight to the European and Japanese manufacturers.
The Geely Boyue X boasts an aggressive exterior design with an angular set of air intakes with orange accents positioned at either side of the bumper together with an anti-scuff plate, dramatic spindle grille and focused pair of LED headlamps. At the side, a floating roof design as well as black panelling with orange accents at the bottom of the doors is applied to create a premium look.
The rear isn’t lacking in aggression either with a subtle diffuser applied to the bumper alongside some chrome trimmings as well as a dynamic LED taillamp cluster, shark fin antenna and spoiler mounted to the top of the hatch. The upper half of the tailgate has also been painted black for more of a dynamic effect. The design is rounded of by a set of dual-five-spoke 19-inch alloy wheels with orange brake callipers.
Within the cabin, the Geely Boyue X remains largely unchanged from the existing model with its two-tone blue and white leather upholstery, 12,3-inch touchscreen infotainment system and Bose sound system with karaoke function for higher trim-level models.
The engine offerings for the crossover remain the same as well with the flagship boasting a turbopetrol 1,8-litre four-cylinder engine that produces 135 kW and 300 N.m of torque to the front wheels via a dual-clutch transmission. In select markets, a 1,5-litre three-cylinder engine will be available with a power output of 128 kW and 255 N.m which is sent to the front wheels via a six-speed torque converter.
