Interest for the new Hyundai Tucson garnered over 15 000 pre-orders on the first day of order books opening.

The new Hyundai Tucson recorded 15 045 pre-orders on the day (22 October 2026) order books officially opened. By comparison, the outgoing, fourth-generation Tucson noted 10 842 pre-orders when it debuted in September 2020. Accounting for almost half of the orders in South Korea was the flagship Inspiration derivative (44%), followed by the entry-level H-Pick (33%), mid-range Exclusive (22%), and off-road-focused XRT (1%). Local specifications have yet to be confirmed.
The fifth-generation Tucson’s bold bodywork measures 4 700 mm in length, 1 905 mm in width, and 1 685 mm in height, making it 60 mm longer, 40 mm wider, and 20 mm taller than the current model. The new car’s wheelbase is also longer, at 2 785 mm (up 40 mm). The next Tucson sports a 180 mm ground clearance.
While Hyundai’s local arm has yet to confirm whether the new Tucson will be available with the current model’s 2.0-litre petrol and turbodiesel engine options, the company has confirmed it will be offered with the same hybrid (HEV) powertrain as the Santa Fe. Comprising a 1.6-litre, four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine and an electric motor, the HEV setup produces 175 kW and 367 N.m in the latter model, with power sent to all four corners via a six-speed automatic transmission.
The carmaker has highlighted some key features we can expect to find in the new Tucson. The latter includes a 9.9-inch digital driver’s display, touchscreen infotainment measuring 12.9 inches on lower-tier derivatives and 17 inches on higher-spec variants, dual 15 W wireless smartphone charging docks up front, 100 W charging ports at the rear, and multi-zone climate control.
