The popular German tuning company has shifted its focus away from BMW yet again to create this; the Manhart RQ 900. Based off the Audi RS Q8, Manhart has added some power to the engine, tweaked the suspension and given the coupe SUV some aggressive styling cues.
The twin-turbo 4,0-litre V8 has been upped from 441 kW and 800 N.m of torque to 675 kW and 1 180 N.m by means of an ECU remap, upgraded intercooler, Eventuri carbon intake, turbo performance kit and a set of sports downpipes with 200-cell catalytic converters. This system is connected to a stainless steel exhaust system with valve controls and four 100 mm tailpipes that can be finished in carbon or ceramic coating.
Manhart has not revealed what this translates to in terms of performance but for context, in standard-guise, the RS Q8 will sprint from 0-100 km/h in 3,8 seconds and reach a top speed of 305 km/h.
For added handling and presence, the Manhart RQ 900 has been given a suspension optimisation via software optimisation or a set of custom coupling rods, which lowers the body by 30-40 mm. On request, the firm can also add individual brake upgrades for improved stopping power.
Visual enhancements to the Manhart RQ 900 consist of the firm’s traditional black paintwork with a set of gold decorative strips and lettering which decks the carbon fibre widebody kit. This consists of wheel arch extensions, a front spoiler and frame, side skirts, a roof and hatch spoiler and rear diffuser. This kit is complemented by a set of 24-inch Classic Line alloy wheels with a side-matte finish and gold trim accents on the side.
Customisations can be made to the cabin upon request. These include high-quality leather upholstery with fine topstitching and decorative stitching, as well as individually selectable accents and Manhart-branded floor mats.
