Positioned as a more utility focused variant in JMC’s local Vigus lineup, the new Single Cab has arrived on South African shores. The local arm of the Chinese automaker says the Single Cab is aimed at South African business owners, with a larger load bed and “compelling” commercial fleet solutions.
JMC Vigus Single Cab engine, fuel consumption and range
The Single Cab employs the same 2.5-litre turbocharged diesel engine as its double-cab stablemates. The four-cylinder oil-burner churns out 123 kW and 410 N.m of torque – the latter available from a low 1 400 r/min. In the Single Cab, the powertrain is exclusively coupled with a six-speed manual transmission, which delivers drive to the rear wheels. The firm claims an average fuel consumption of 7.0 L/100 km, which translates to a driving range of 1 043 km on a full, 73-litre tank of fuel.

JMC Vigus Single Cab dimensions, payload and towing capacity
In terms of size, the Vigus Single Cab measures 5 335 mm in length and 1 882 mm in width. The Single Cab stands 1 834 mm tall, with a 3 150 mm wheelbase. The Single Cab sports a 210 mm ground clearance. The approach and departure angles are rated at 27 and 22 degrees, respectively. The Single Cab offers a payload capacity of 1 000 kg and a braked towing capacity of 2 000 kg. The unbraked towing capacity is 750 kg.
JMC Vigus Single Cab standard features and safety equipment
As standard, the Single Cab features air conditioning, Bluetooth connectivity, and dual USB charging points. Safety features include dual front airbags, an anti-lock braking System (ABS), electronic brake-force distribution (EBD), and rear parking sensors.
2026 JMC Vigus Single Cab price in South Africa
Locally, the updated Vigus Single Cab is priced from R329 900. A five-year/100 000 km warranty is included as standard, with a service plan available as an option.
