The Geely Monjaro EM-i has officially been revealed at the 2026 Paris Motor Show as the Chinese brand’s new premium-focused midsize family SUV.

Geely Monjaro EM-i powertrain and specifications
As its name suggests, the Monjaro EM-i uses Geely’s EM-i powertrain. The setup pairs a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder engine with a dedicated plug-in hybrid (PHEV) system. The new-energy SUV also offers an Intelligent Electric AWD System (e-AWD) as an option, optimised to manage battery preservation, thermal performance, and regenerative braking when overtaking or traversing long inclines.
This model is underpinned by the Chinese automaker’s GEA Evo architecture. This platform benefits from front- and rear-axle decoupling and torque vectoring. The AWD model also includes a Continuous Damping Control suspension arrangement that adapts to road surfaces in 20 milliseconds across Comfort, Standard, and Sport settings. The standard powertrain includes Pure, Hybrid, Power, and Snow driving modes, while the AWD model adds Sand and Off-Road programmes. The braked towing capacity is rated at 1 500 kg.
Geely Monjaro EM-i dimensions and interior space
With a high-strength body structure, the Monjaro EM-i measures 4 800 mm in length and has a 2 845 mm wheelbase. The interior provides up to 130 mm of second-row knee room, Geely says. The carmaker claims a boot capacity of 633 litres, expanding to 1 532 litres when the rear seatbacks are folded down. The cabin also features 34 storage compartments.

Geely Monjaro EM-i features, technology and safety
The Monjaro EM-i’s interior hosts the brand’s latest digital features. These include a 12.3-inch driver’s display and a 15.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system. A 25.6-inch head-up display is available as an option. The Flyme Auto infotainment system incorporates wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Customers can specify a 16-speaker Flyme Sound audio system with a 1 000 W output and 7.1.2 immersive surround sound. Voice control supports 18 languages across four audio zones and can manage up to 600 vehicle functions.
The cabin features 11-layer composite seats with optional heating, ventilation and eight-point massage functionality. Double-pane laminated front windows and acoustic materials covering 89% of the interior reduce tyre noise by 45%, the firm says.
For safety, the Monjaro EM-i is equipped with seven airbags. The Geely Battery Safety System and 13 Level 2 active safety features further enhance its safety profile. Additionally, drivers benefit from nine driving comfort assistance functions and a 360-degree camera array with a transparent chassis view.

Will the Geely Monjaro EM-i launch in South Africa?
The Monjaro EM-i forms part of Geely’s global strategy for 2027. The manufacturer’s local subsidiary has yet to announce the introduction of this model to South Africa, but it has confirmed seven new models for the region in 2027.
